AC Question

My LG phone is displaying the message, "Unfortunately, LG Keyboard has stopped." I can not text or use anything which requires use of the keyboard. This phone is not even a month old yet. NOT HAPPY!!!!!

Welcome to Android Central! I'm going to repeat what I posted a few posts before:

For those who are still posting about their LG Keyboard not working, have you all read through this thread? If so, it would be helpful to know that you've actually tried the various suggestions. Otherwise, the main suggestion will be to read through the thread and try the various suggestions.

One thing I often suggest is to use a basic USB keyboard connected via OTG adapter (very inexpensive) to at least get you past the lockscreen. Then install another keyboard.

My phone LG-P713 was saying "Unfortunately, LG keyboard has stopped". I already restarted my phone and reset to see if it is working but nothing's change. Please help me..I'm super anxious and ready to cry what do I do?!

Can you please tell me what model, carrier and software version you are currently using?^MA

I got same problems. My phone keeps on displaying "Unfortunately, LG keyboard has stopped." I am so pissed! How can I even unlock it when keyboard isn't functioning?! I got an LG G4 Stylus. Just not sure if it's still on Lollipop or if I've already upgraded it to Marshmallow. Really need some help.

It seems to me that everyone that has a password but the keyboard has stopped working is screwed. Not one person here had a hint of a remedy for us. Everyone seemed to have a remedy for people who could get into their phones.

I would like someone to at least acknowledge our existence.

Is our phone trash or is it fixable?

Re: LG Keyboard has stopped on Stylo 2

I had to go to Setting-General tab
Scroll down to About phone
Tap Update Center
and at that time on my cell phone it had the LG Keyboard listed as needing to update. Tapped it and it updated and starting working again.

This is the only place I even saw the LG Keyboard listed on this phone. All the suggestions I saw online said look under apps. Never saw it there.

Hope this helps someone else out.

I never had this problem until the most recent (July 2020) system update. Now the LG keyboard crashes all the time all over the place. I tried ALL the solutions listed in this thread, except going back to factory settings, but nothing works. I thought maybe the proximity of the home buttons to the spacebar might contribute, but there's no way to make the home buttons disappear while the keyboard is up. I'm on a LG K30, Android 9, software v. X410MK30e.
