LG MyTouch Android version 2.3.4

This is the second LG MyTouch I have gotten since the previous one was giving me trouble. The browser would close on it's own and the phone itself would actually Shut down completely. It lagged and the speaker on the back and earpiece suck. Now this 2nd LG MyTouch is starting to give me problems. The phone hasn't completely shut down but the browser closes on its own plus the speaker and earpiece are trash. Now, I would like to know if it's LG or Android that is responsible. I'm thinking about getting a Samsung Dart because this is ridiculous.

My screen shuts down and phone lags, worse phone ive ever had.
I continously have to remove battery just to hang up the phone.

I have the exact same version. The market and my dialer are both not working. The internet is slow, the market refuses to download anything, and it shuts down on its own.
