LG Optimus G on Sprint 4g signal

I can have 4g coverage and when I do a speed test it around 12-20 down, but the bars never stay on long? Anyone else notice this? I live Houston and have some very good 4g LTE coverage, but keep wondering why no bars?

I have the same issue with my phone. When you notice it look at about phone and click on the network tab. My issue is that unless I'm within 100 yards of a tower I don't get anything better than 100dbm

Same issue with the bars, but it doesn't seem to make that much difference in the way the phone responds.

By the way, I've done 2 speed tests in 2 different areas since I've had mine for a week now. Both times with only 1 bar showing. 1375mbps (1st), 1393 (2nd) down. 875mbps (1st), 923 (2nd) up.
If, and that's a big if, the speeds stay anywhere near these numbers as the LTE gets built out, I'll be a very happy camper.....
Suffered through 2 years of almost dial up speed 3g in my area with my EVO 4g. There was only one small area by me that the Clearwire 4g was available, and I was seldom there

Yeah those speeds aren't good at all mine will show zero bars and I still get 6-7 down with 4-5 up. Ultimately I believe it does effect my phone because I know on my drive to drop off my daughter during the first portion of the drive o would have constant lte. The og will drop lte and won't pick it up unless I toggle airplane mode on and off.

Like you, I am in Houston and I have been disappointed with the LTE speeds with Sprint. The fastest I have seen is 6. Nowhere near 20+ from Verizon and Att.

In LA getting 18-20/8 pretty consistently in LTE areas so its easily as fast as Verizon here.

I get 12 mbs but shows 0 bars. But I still get texts and calls .. so I dunno
