LG Style 4 mic stopped working, except in Google Assistant, help?

[Android Central Question]

The microphone will not pick upmy voice in the phone, texting app, video recorder, audio recorder or anything else. Only the Google Assistant will hear the voice just fine. I tried to make every adjustment I can find in Google and in the phone. Does anybody have any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Snice it Works in Google, but not any other apps, I figured it must be app conflict problem. I deleted several apps and now it seems to work intermittently. Right now it is working. The next time it stops I will try it in safe mode and let you know.

It stopped working again, the only change I think that has happened was there was a Google update. I put it in safe mode and same thing, the mic does not work in any app, it does not work on phone calls, but Google does pick up my voice normally when I hit the little microphone button on Google search.

If you shoot a video with the camera app and listen to the playback, does the audio play back in both stereo channels, or only one?

When I do video recording there is no sound at all. I've decided to go ahead and send it in for repairs.

I sent it into LG and they replace the receiver slash speaker and now it works perfect.
