LG Thrill that won't turn on

My sister has an LG Thrill that she has had for 3 yrs she has pics on it but the phone won't charge to get them off outside of the obvious buy a new battery is there anyway that we can get this pics of the sd card?

If you can take out the SD Card, you can plug it into an adapter like this: Amazon.com: micro sd adapter

Then connect it to your computer to take out the photos.
