Soooo, I got a Trial Note 5 to play with, as I have had a Note 3, 4 in the past and other phones like the iPhone. But I also have a LG V10 I am trying too right now. For the life of me, I wanted to like the V10, but I am having a HARD time adjusting to the buttons on the back. It also has a bit of LAG to it where the Note 5 never shows it any more. My Note 4 definitely had lag.

Anyone else use a V10 to try and go back to the Note? I like the replaceable battery and SD Card 200gb.

Bought a note 5 again in gold. Loved the look. V10 won me over after I changed the keyboard from stock (my phone never lags now if the keyboard is open). The fingerprint isn't as good but it's not awful if you just keep putting it more fingerprints of the same finger and use it more. Returned the note, happy camper.

I also read an article comparing the note 5 to the V10. Of course the note 5 won. It does have a faster processor, a gorgeous screen, and side buttons that are much more convenient than the ones on the back. But let's look at the reality of things. How much faster is the 810 vs the 808? Milliseconds? Who's going to notice or even care. The LCD screen on the V10 isn't as bright, but more realistic and beautiful too. The back buttons are not user friendly in my opinion, but I still bought the V10 for the following reasons. First, it's fast enough, second it's incredibly well built. Third I love the second screen. It's very useful. And the big differences are the sd card slot and swappable battery. That made the V10 a no brainer for me. Now keep in mind that I'm coming from a galaxy note 4 which I still have and consider the best phone that samsung ever made. Then I bought the S6 edge, but I couldn't get a full day out of the battery and I had no way to plug in nor should I have to. After all if I wanted to be like an iPhone user, I'd have lowered myself to an iPhone. Then there's the storage issue. 64gb just wasn't enough. Eve with cloud storage, I couldn't always access files I needed. So the V10 is a great, fast phone that gives customers what they want. Who knows, maybe if samsung brings back the sd slot and puts an all day battery in its next renditions, I'll go back. JUST MAYBE.

I didn't get the Note 5 due to lack of removable battery.

I do miss the Spen from time to time, but I love the V10

I came from the Note Edge, and loved the 2nd screen. But when I broke it, I figured it was time for a new phone. I looked at the Note 5, but I am a HEAVY user and rather carry a spare battery then look for an outlet and carry a charger with me. Or a battery booster.. Just easy to carry a spare battery.

Well the LG definitely drains it's batteries much faster than the Note 5 did. Maybe two batteries on the LG vs the Note 5 one battery for life.

I have decided to sell the LG and order a Note 5 once the LG sells. I came across an awesome deal on a Gear S2 watch for $150 bucks locally. Way cheaper than I have seen them sell on Swappa.

I would get a very thin case so it helps hold the phone better and may protect the glass from breaking....to me, the Note 5 is a more performance oriented phone where the LG was a more rounded phone. If LG put an Amoled screen, a faster processor (you do notice the difference between them), and shrunk it's size down a little, they would have had me.

If your V10 battery is draining that fast, you've got an issue. I'd check the battery specs in your settings. The note 5 wont get you through a full day either. I'm a moderate to heavy user. Listen to music, many texts, emails and watch over an hour of video and I Still have about 30% at bedtime.

Wait, you mean you want to compare 3,000mAh Batteries? Oh wait, maybe the millisecond difference in CPU? I have a coworker who has the Note 5, plugs it in before the end of the day. Usually around the time I do, so don't really notice the speed or battery life difference. Now the screen, I like the Note's screen better, but the V10 isn't bad either. But if you really need to go and change the battery here is the instruction on How to change the battery in the note 5. Only thing I really miss from my Note Edge is the S-Pen and the 2nd panel with a bigger selection. And once ZeroLemon releases it's 9,000mAh extended battery, I will be in love with this phone. But it is a matter of preference, you like the Samsung phone, and I want a changeable battery and SD Slot. (I can carry all 4,000+ mp3's and thousands upon thousands of picture on my 128GB card to show friends and family without using data.

Went from a Note 5 to V10 and back to the Note 5. I really liked the V10 but I love the Note 5. It seems a little more polished and consistent.

Note 5 easily lasts all day with 50% still available.

Trust me I needed sdcard slot and battery but when the phone doesn't perform as good as the note 5 I can get by without those. . The finger print works as good as the iPhone on the note. . The LG half the time had trouble. . YouTube videos would stop displaying but you still heard the sound. . Many other things. .

I understand, it the Note 5 had a changeable battery, I would have bought it. No problems with the fingerprint scanner, nor anything else so far. I really miss my Note Edge. I loved the panel, the one on the V10, doesn't quite make it.

I think we all agree that there is no single perfect phone. You've got to select one that fits your particular style and work. I chose the V10 because I want a swappable battery(unless there's a monster of a sealed one), and the SD card slot. I'm very happy with this purchase. To be honest, if samsung had continued with expandable memory and swappable or huge battery, I'd have bought the note 5. Especially since I'm coming from the note 4. I was also offended when samsung ignored their customers needs by doing what they did even though we voiced our options long before the note 5 was released. Its my money, give me what I want.

I had a note 5 and battery life was same as v10

Definitely not. Playing a YouTube video you can almost watch the battery meter go down on the v10 while the note 5 seems to last a long time. I used both side by side and it is a big difference. The LG also had 3 batteries and all did it.

The test results online in reviews shows the LG lasts 10 hours less than the note 5 in life.

No phone lasts 10 hours.. I am am the proverbial power user. Used the moto x pure, the note 5, and now the v10.. Heavy usage. Lots of forums, news, videos and social media and when I start 7am all need changed right around noon. Difference is i stop change a battery and im good for the rest of the day. I am off using my phone while the spare battery charges instead of hugging a wall waiting for it to charge up again. The best way I can tell you on any phone to improve battery life. Stop the auto syncs, do not use fb or fb messenger app.. Use the web version.. Lower your screen brightness it does not need to be set for 60 percent.

I turn off the auto sync on all my email accounts. I just do manual. When I think of checking my email, it downloads them, fast enough for me.
I always close my apps from the recent apps, also. I only leave them in there if I am task switching between them.
My battery life goes all day on my V10.

Note 5 battery pretty damn good with the optimization, I was getting about 5hrs SOT on avg. But since V10 has removal battery and about 4hrs avg, its moot.

mSD card, SlimPort (connecting to tv), and the build differences have me choosing V10 (since handling glass makes me a bit uneasy)

When my Note 5 or iPhone 6s died out half way through the day from my going beast mode on them, I had no options but to sit around a wall port waiting for the phone to catch its breath. With the V10, I carry two spare batteries. one dies, I swap it out and put the dead one on the wall charger that came with the spares and keep going. I feel like that's worth giving up the S-Pen for.
