Lg V20 activation

Did anyone have a hard time activating their v20?

if so which carrier.

i have sprint when i first got the phone it wouldnt activate. It went through the motions but then would say activation failed. I figured the sales rep was in a rush and forgot something. but then on wednesday my v20 data just stopped working. it would show lte but nothing that required data would work, i checked with other folk with sprint and they had no issues. called sprint they walked me through resetting the services which then removed text and calls so i couldnt do anything. Had to call from a different phone and they tried the activation steps and the phone just would not self activate. 1st time ive had this issue with any sprint phone. is it a v20 issue or maybe mine is defective?

I'm surprised you've not already taken it back for an exchange.
 
Mine wouldn't self activate on Verizon. It would hang on the activation check screen but not proceed. This was ordered online, so didn't go through a rep at a store for setup. I was able to call in and have them manually activate it with no trouble then or since.

Side note A) The same happened with the LG Stylo 2 V we got at the same time, again manually activated with no additional problems.

Side note B ) The CSR's seem to really like it when you call in with the problematic phones already shut off and batteries removed if possible. I guess because it saves them going over that first step with you. Lol
 
Definitely take it back and let Sprint fix or replace. ...may just be a SIM card issue.
 
I have the v20 on sprint now my has been fine. I think you should take it back and either exchange or see if you need a new SIM card
 
Any update on this? I'm having the same issue. Sprint says its activated on their side and the hands free activation on my side fails. I got the phone and a new nano sim off ebay so I can't really take it to sprint and tell em to fix it.

The easist way i have found is to log into your sprint account (on a pc) under devices there is a link to activate new device and follow the steps. It works for me when i want to switch between two phones.
 
That part of the process does work. Its the reboot of the device after that to get it to come online to the network that fails.

The handset seems fine. It shows the esn and the sim card numbers correctly on the device. I can use wifi and do stuff. Just can't get the mobile network portion to kick itself in the butt.
 
I've had it happen occasionally on Verizon when first trying to connect I would get an error message but it would end up connecting anyway I think it was usually because of a bad connection. It wasn't specific to the V20.

What happens if you try the update profile under system updates?
 
Profile and PRL updates fail. Even when connected to a wifi signal. The phone does show a 100% full mobile network signal strength as well as the solid wifi connection.
 
even the sprint zone app to access my account fails. I can get to email, facebook, etc using the wifi signal but the sprint zone says network unavailable.
 
so in case anyone else stumbles upon this thread while goggling. The fix is to get a nano sim card. Not from Sprint or ebay. I got mine from Ting. Look for a sim with the SKU SIMGLW416Q. Even sprint didn't send me the correct card for my phone.

Thats good to know i just wish sprint would makenit easier to switch phones
 
I have been on Verizon for many years, order all my phones only,e and never had an activation problem.
