lg v20 finger print option gone?!?!?!

hellow, i got a new lg v20. i ve been trying to search on net to see if theres a solution to this. but cant seem to find a concrete solution. couple of days ago, my lg v20 couldnt read my finger print. it said something about resetting phone. i did that and now i cant unlock phone with finger print. i factory resetted the phone and it didnt help. the option for scanning finger is just gone. any solutions to this?

I just had an issue where I couldn't turn off or unlock my phone because the power button didn't work. But the finger print scanner worked allowing me to unlock the phone.
I didn't want to pull the battery because I might not be able to turn
it back on. I read where several people tried taking a snapshot "holding down the down volume and power button simultaneously". This worked for me
a little different but same button.

I have the same problem as the OP. A little while ago, my phone started displaying the notification that it could no longer read my fingerprints and to restart the phone. I have and the fingerprint option is now completely gone. I've restarted the phone multiple times and just pulled the battery but nothing has worked.

Clear the cache from the recovery mode. A recent update may have screwed some things up. If all else fails, do a factory reset. If the phone is locked and you can't get through the setup, look on YouTube on how to bypass the security login using accessibility settings, there's a loophole that will get you past that page. If the fingerprint option doesn't work, you should be able to use your PIN or PASSWORD, which was required when you setup the FPS.

Thank you. This helped me because my fingerprint reader just stopped. The recovery mode cache deletion did the trick.

Try this solution
Power off your G6. Press down the volume up and down key while powering it back on. You'll enter another mode where it shows IMEI number etc. Power your G6 back on normally and you'll see the option reappear. It worked for me.
