Hello, I have an LG V20 and since it's old every so often, like 3 times a year, I perform a factory data reset as it becomes sluggish. When I'm entering a message which I have buffered a certain content, which usually is a while message that I have saved as a reply, in order to not retype it again. It appears in the section that I encircled in red. Instead, now I have to press and keep it pressed in order to get the option to paste it. See the 2nd pic.
Anybody has an idea of what might be happening and what to do in order to get it as it was?
Thank you any help on this.

You should use the Personal Dictionary option in Gboard for that (assuming you're using Gboard). When Gboard is open, long-press the comma, then select the gear icon. Then go to Dictionary>Personal Dictionary>[your language]. Now create an entry, where your canned message is in the "Type a word" field, and then enter a Shortcut that you want to trigger that canned message.

Once that's saved, go back and type that shortcut. You should see your canned message appear as one of the suggested "words". Tap it, and it should immediately appear in the text field.

Remember that apps and their interfaces will usually evolve over time, so it can be difficult to turn the clock back to how they used to be in previous incarnations.

Is it always the same thing you want to paste or is that you just want the convince of it being there whenever you copy something to paste later?

Typically if you copy something it assumes you want to use it in the next text field you open and present it for use right away. After you've used it your keyboard goes back to predictive text, offering you random words. I'm not sure you can keep that selected text active beyond that. Otherwise it would be there indefinitely. When you go to your browser here is this text from yesterday, oh you want to type something in a FB comment, here is this text you saved 6 hours ago... Do you see what I'm saying? How long should it keep presenting this copied text? 2 hours, 2 days, a week?

I just don't see how you could keep it available beyond the initial use. However if it is always the same B. Diddy's suggestion should work but that's only if it is always the same and you use that sentence, phrase or set of words a lot.

A loaf of bread, a container of milk, and a stick of butter...

Thank you for that. As for apps and interfaces evolving with time, that's true save that in my case LG dropped their cellphone line some years b

Thanks for that. As far as interface and apps evolving LG stopped making cellphones in 2021.

Yes, but Google apps have continued to evolve, even if LG stopped making or supporting their phones. So as long as you're still able to update those apps, you'll encounter those changes over time.
