Re: New V30 render... Might not get it. What do you think?

I don't know about all these renders. The latest one seems to be metal backed, but still is claiming wireless charging... Seems to me that most are throwing things against the wall hoping they stick...

We'll see soon enough.

Mac

Not really metal, just glass with a metallic paint like the silver G6. I really hope they choose metal.

IMO that looks terrible.

It's all but guaranteed that the V30 will have a sealed back so those hoping for a removable battery...... Adapt or stay in the past.

As long as they dump the slider idea I will give it a shot.

And yes I had the v10 and v20

Re: New V30 render... Might not get it. What do you think?

those pics are just some guy making up stuff right? not like a leak, but a creative guess?

I'd be fine with a non-removable battery if it lasts. I had both the V10 and the V20, and I was swapping batteries once or twice a day.

I also want a wide phone like the V20. If my S8+ was the same physical dimensions as my V20 it would be perfect

It's based on LG's patent submission, some inside speculations, and from LG's current design with the G6. This is what LG imagined. Either this or the slide out phone (which I think they figured out that design would be a failure).

This is how I've been holding my phones since the V10.View attachment 262261
That's exactly how I hold my phone when in landscape. Pinched between my index and pinky fingers. I have no trouble holding it that way. I love the way the S8 Plus feels in hand now that I'm used to it. I have no issues with the infinity display. I love the tiny bezels. Looks awesome and allows the phone to not be too big in the hand while still giving a big display.

In other words... hogwash (whatever that means) until we see the LG leaks.

Re: New V30 render... Might not get it. What do you think?

I'm not entirely convinced.

Looks like a stretched G6

Re: New V30 render... Might not get it. What do you think?

I might get it and the Note 8, will have to wait and see what both devices offer.

I would take the G6 over the S8 because I dislike the edge display, so will have to see what the N8 and V30 offer. Maybe, unlikely, but maybe I'll get a Motorola.

Re: New V30 render... Might not get it. What do you think?

I'm uncertain as to the validity of this render, so I'm not going to make any claims about the supposed success or failure of the LG V30 until the facts have been laid out on the table.
I will mention that, although the render does look quite nice, and I believe LG is finally finding a consistent and attractive design language (they've been fumbling around for a new one since the G4), I would be disappointed if LG gave up the few aspects that made them unique in this ubiquitous smartphone market.

I am not in the habit of constantly changing out my phone battery, but the majority of the phones I have owned possess removable backs and removable batteries. My 950 XL (yes, I know) proves that it is quite possible to fit every feature under the sun into a phone and still have that removable battery. And if LG won't do it, who else is there to make a high end phone with this feature?

Ouch, must put too much pressure on the most delicate finger, the pinky! I could only use my pinky while on portrait mode. Still, very inconvenient way to hold.

not for me, i stole the idea from my wife, that's how she takes pics. haha the phone isn't THAT heavy to make my pinky feel insane.

Re: New V30 render... Might not get it. What do you think?

It really looks like the v30 will not have removable battery. A few sites have said it will be announced in Berlin end of August and they have all said no removable battery
Yuck

Rumor has it the next Note will have a dual camera. Now, why choose the V30 over the Note? Time to jump ship!

If not LG, then some other manufacture will bank on this. My friend is hanging on to his Note 4 for his dear life. He said he doesn't know if he'll ever upgrade. Funny thing is he already owns newer smartphones as he's a Samsung phone collector, but uses the Note 4 for it's removable battery. People loved that design: big screen, simple flat glass with removable battery. The Note 4 was a fan favorite, no one cared for the Note 5.

You know it's either this design or that sliding design. Sliding design may be cool but also might hurt sales due to being too whacky.
