Hello! I've been having this problem since I've gotten home today,
I have an LG X Charge and
I went to the zoo today, took pictures and videos of all the animals,
The destination I have set for my pics/vids is my 238GB micro SD card, it's been working perfectly fine since I got it. Just thought I should put that out there for now.
Up until today when coming back home, I tried to go into Settings, and it would just freeze on the main screen, where all the tabs are for Display, General etc, it would just freeze on the Networks tab, and it would never unfreeze, messages like "Settings isn't responding" and "Process com.android.settings isn't responding" would pop up after a little bit of time of settings being frozen, then I realized not only was Settings doing that but Gallery was too, Gallery would stay frozen on a white screen with the "Gallery" text up at the top. and then Google Play Store would stop downloading apps and would always say "waiting for download", and not only that but Camera app was always a black screen with the little camera button at the bottom, and it would freeze too.

This has been stuck this way for a few hours now, and I got back home around 6PMish.
I'm writing this at 12 AM and still haven't found a good solution.
I've tried all solutions you could think of that I could find except for Factory Reset because I am too afraid that the problem will still be occurring somehow after I factory reset.
Recovery Mode doesn't work either, I tried to do Recovery Mode to clear cache partition, but I cannot get Recovery Mode to activate. (Please tell me the correct way to enter recovery mode for a LG X Charge just incase I've been doing it wrong.)

And not even Safe Mode fixed the problem what so ever.

I tried uninstalling updates for Google Play services, restarting the phone, but I can't update it (didn't take that into consideration cause I was stupid.) *because* I can't download stuff from Play Store cause again, it always gets stuck in "Waiting for download" or the Play Store would just crash and reopen again.

I've also tried taking out my SD card, then powering my phone back on and trying to access Settings and stuff but they were all still frozen, so I'm not sure if the SD card is the root of the problem or not.

I'm not sure if this will be resolved on its own either because I experienced this same thing (I'm pretty sure) a few months ago but it lasted for way shorter time, so it's really confusing me and it's making me afraid I need to get a brand new phone again.

If anybody has any solutions, or at least temporary ones I'd love to know. Thank you. And I'm very very sorry for the lengthy post.

Welcome to Android Central! LG phones don't allow the user to wipe the cache partition (unless perhaps you have a custom recovery installed). Did you see if it happens in Safe Mode and with the SD card removed, or did you only try each separately?

UPDATE: Was just watching videos, and took my mind off the issue for a little bit (considering Gallery, Settings, Google Play Store and Camera were the only apps not working) and I had seen in my status bar that the apps I tried installing before during this whole thing started installing to my phone, so I checked Settings, Gallery and everything was working again as if nothing happened.

If anyone has any info on how to make sure this doesn't happen again, or at least happens for a shorter amount of time, PLEASE let me know, I don't want this problem to occur again.

Glad it's working now! Are you saying that you noticed those basic apps were updating on their own, after which everything worked normally?

Nono, I had tried to install those apps during when Settings and Gallery all broke, which was then what brought my attention that Google Play Store wouldn't install apps.

I feel one thing is connected to Gallery, Settings, Camera and Google Play all at the same time for all of it to stop working at once, just don't know what it is yet.

Possibly a Google Play Services issue. Play Services updates in the background, so it's possible it was trying to update and having issues, which was also causing issues for other apps.
