LGG4 Bluetooth issues

Interesting. I am able to sync with my Alpine CD receiver in my car. When go to Settings, Bluetooth, and then press on the gear next to the Alpine paired device, it gives me the option to use for Call audio or Media audio. I am able to play music through the Alpine receiver or make/receive calls.

This is for Verizon. I'm sure sprint will follow with an update soon.

Unless something new has come out, it was AT&T and T-Mobile who forced an update and it was Verizon and T-Mobile removing features from the G4. All these articles have been on the main AC site.

it wont play media on my jvc in my car, my galaxy s4 worked well, but the g4 will only work for calls. tried the bluetooth auto connect app, but it didnt do anything to help. hoping that verizon gets on the update and can get this and a few other issues people have mentioned fixed

Does it display song titles for you? My LG G4 connects fine and plays the audio through the system. However, the titles don't display. The Head Unit only says "Bluetooth Audio". I tried Bluetooth Auto Connect, but no dice. I have T-Mobile and no updates yet.

Mine is working so far with my BT Headset I use at work & also the one in the gf's car .. But it is an adapter we bought for the car (not native / built into the car itself).

It seems like there are so many variables with Bluetooth connecting to the car. My N6 connected fine to my Ford Focus but wouldn't download my contacts. Spotify wouldn't show track titles but Deezer would. My G4 download my phone book and Spotify now shows track titles. Now my issue is sometimes when I get in the car, the LG music app opens and starts playing the stupid Life's Good Theme music. I don't use the music app only Spotify. I even have Smart Settings setup to open Spotify when connected to Bluetooth.

Disable the LG music app of you're not using it. Easy peesy!

The "Bluetooth Connect and Play" app has been a lifesaver for directing the phone how to behave and which music app to play when Bluetooth connects

I have a 15 Escape. Recently while on a call when I receive a second call it disconnects the first call from Ford Sync. It doesn't hang up but I have to grab the phone. It did it for a day than worked fine for a few days. Than happened again the last 2 days.

Any suggestions?

Got the new G4 (replacing a G3) and am having an issue with Bluetooth in the car. It only syncs the phone and there is no option to sync media. It worked fine with the G3. Is there an option that I'm missing?

I had that issue with the Lexus, could make calls over BT but would not play my media. What I had to do was go into media devices on the Lexus and register the G4. After that it will be listed under media devices along with my Z1s and Windows 10 phone. Auto connects to all phones and get voice/media and steering controls across the board.

Anyone here using a smart watch along with their Bluetooth audio?
If my Bluetooth headphones are connected and my pebble isn't, the audio will get disconnected every minute

I'm having trouble with BT with my Moto 360. I can't connect to the Moto 360 & to a bluetooth headset at the same time. It shows connected, but no audio plays. I tried Bluetooth Auto Connect and played around with the profiles, but no luck. I called Verizon and a 2nd level tech said he spoke with LG and they told him the phone doesn't support being connected to a smartwatch and a bluetooth headset at the same time! Hate to return the phone, but this is sort of a dealbreaker. I was finally able to get the audio coming through my headset and it disconnected the smartwatch. Now I can't get the phone to re-pair with the watch after multiple restarts. Very frustrating - not the experience you'd expect from a flagship.

Didn't make any difference

I too had that happen I just went to the music library searched for the title and three of them come up. Use the drop menu and delete, check the top box and deletes all. Go back to the LG player's menu and disable the player. Google's player is now default and will play your last song listened to. It seems LG really wants to push their ad campaign and drive you crazy with that tune. lol Oh also forgot to mention you can disable the player in all apps look for music.

I have a Pebble and the Bluebuds X. The pebble app will constantly search for the pebble as soon as bluetooth comes on. I would connect the pebble first then the headphones. With that said, I had the same problem while I was using my Nexus 5 and M7.
If I don't have my pebble I would delete the app (or use titanium).

I've also got a similar Bluetooth issue. My Moto 360 connects fine, as does my 2013 Honda Civic. Problem is that the Bluetooth audio going to my Civic goes to really low quality when my 360 is also connected to the phone. When it's not, the audio seems to work fine.

I remember this being an issue with my previous G3, so I somewhat expected this to be fixed with the G4. Guess it's just an LG thing.

Thanks for that. I downloaded this app, and for some reason I can't see Tidal Music player as an option. I also can't see it when I try to open an mp3 file as an option to make it default. Any ideas?

I just Jumped on T-Mobile from my LG G2 (Android 5.01) to the LG G4 (Android 5.1). My car is a 2013 VW Jetta Hybrid with I believe the RNS-315 Stereo Head Unit. The G2 when on Anroid 4.4 synced fine for phone, and always displayed the incorrect song titles on the head unit for music. When I upgraded the G2 to Android 5.01, all Bluetooth features and syncing was perfect. Now on the LG G4, my phone pairs with the Bluetooth. I can accept phone calls, and I can play music. However, it does not import my contacts, and I can't voice-dial. Also, the music plays, but the song/artist/album titles do not display. The HU just displays "Bluetooth Audi". I have both Phone and Audio profiles enabled. I have tried the PlayerPro app, the Google Play app, and native music app. All same behavior. Any suggestions?

Hi Abhorrance:

I've got a 2012 GTI with the RNS-315, and having the same issue. Did you ever manage to get it resolved? I just got my G4 yesterday. This may be a deal breaker for me unfortunately.

Thanks
T1

It's possible that the app doesn't work with Tidal. The developer had been great with adding players though, just contact him
