LGG4 Bluetooth issues

I called AT&T support about the Bluetooth issue with it not showing any text in some car radios. They said they'd had a fair number of complaints about this issue and suggested I call LG directly. I asked them if they could call instead since they have more evidence than a one off call. They did and got back to me. LG is aware of this issue and they're working on a fix which they expect to ship in the next month or so.

Hi Abhorrance:

I've got a 2012 GTI with the RNS-315, and having the same issue. Did you ever manage to get it resolved? I just got my G4 yesterday. This may be a deal breaker for me unfortunately.

Thanks
T1

No Torbach1, I have not got it resolved yet, and it's a bummer. I've tried to disable the LG music app, use Google, PlayerPro, etc. I've also tried the Bluetooth Connect, which some people have had success with. It didn't make difference with the VW. I have heard that Verizon rolled out an update that fixed the issue, but I can't confirm if that is rumor or truth. I have submitted a request with T-Mobile and LG to make a Bug Fix, which they responded to as noted. However, no update yet. =/

how did you finally managed to make spotify show track info? What Focus do you own. I have a 2012 with the 4" blue screen.
With my G3 it was working flawlessly.

Got the new G4 (replacing a G3) and am having an issue with Bluetooth in the car. It only syncs the phone abd there is no option to sync media. It worked fine with the G3. Is there an option that I'm missing?

Make sure your audio streaming option is on on your radio.

When you say "rock solid" on your TLX, are all features working?

I have a '15 Accord EX-L with the same HFL/AHF system. The G4 pairs no problem, however, if I am on a call on bluetooth and another call comes through, it immediately transfers to the handset and off bluetooth. Then, if I try to answer the second incoming call, both calls get dropped...that's problem 1.

Secondly, with texting, I have the car set to read my texts to me...that works fine. However, it also reads any outgoing text as well...drives me nuts.

Third problem is that all of my contacts (Exchange) are listed by company name not by the contact name. This is frustrating as I could easily have 5 or 6 contacts at one customer, so this renders the contact list useless.

I will say I took the G4 back based solely on these issues, and swapped for an S6 Edge. The Edge has its own challenges; battery life, random bluetooth disconnects, etc. When it stays connected, it works exactly as it should and exactly how my Xperia Z3 used to work, but truth be told I REALLY want the G4.

Thoughts, comments?

My G4 has a rock solid Bluetooth connection to my Acura TLX.

I have the same issue but I'm way past the return time. I'm still hopeful I will find a solution. If not I will replace this with a new phone as soon as something I want released.

I'm experiencing a similar issue connecting my LG G4 to my Plantronics Savi 720 headset, which is supposed to be top-tier communications technology. I have no challenge connecting the call audio, but there seems to be no option to connect media audio. I have a Bluetooth attachment in my car, and both call and media audio connect just fine.

I've downloaded Bluetooth Auto Connect and Bluetooth Connect and Play, and neither app seems to be helping.

Thoughts?

My phone will connect with any of my Bluetooth devices EXCEPT my car. Which is really annoying. The car does not have a Streaming Option...so I can't disable the audio portion like you could in the Bluetooth from the phone. Is there an APP that will help pair your device?

I just updated to 10c and now metadata are shown on the car display!!! I have the european H815.

So jealous I have just installed the 10c update and my car unit still displays ."No Data Provided" 😞

Update - following a re-pairing with the Pioneer AVH 3500DAB unit in the car the Bluetooth Metadata is now displaying correctly 😄

I'm having the same problems with the car BT connection. I've not had any other phones disconnect/reconnect as the LG G4 does. It does not disconnect on my older BT earpieces, just in the car. It's beyond annoying. If I'm on the phone and the BT disconnects, I have to grab the phone to continue the conversation and then it will re-connect to the car. I've complained to Verizon but no one seems to do anything about it.

I just got the G4 about a week and a half ago. I love it except the issue I'm having when I disconnect the bluetooth on my car. For some strange reason when I click the bluetooth button to disconnect my car from the bluetooth my G4 restarts.. This has happened to two separate G4's. I had the first one warrantied out at my carrier for a brand new device. Anyone having a similar issue?

Same exact issue here. Reboots the phone when it disconnects. Did yout find a solution?

New LG4, love most everything about it but, it won't auto connect to cars bluetooth. Car is 2012 Acura TSX. Worked perfect w/ my Nissan Altima using a Samsung S3. Very frustrating. Keep having to manually connect it, though it shows its paired. A coworker of mine has same problem w/ LG4 and his car as well.

TWO MONTHS later.....still no update to fix this. VERY Frustrating to say the least. My G2 didn't have this problem. And as a side note, I tried with a G3 phone....it will not connect either. Sounds like a Lollipop issue with the G3/G4 possibly? Wish they would come out with a fix. Sounds like they simply need to roll back or include both the older Bluetooth (2.0) and new one. I have other BT devices..and none of them have issues.

My LG G4 has always paired great with my 2010 Ford Fusion. Last week I inserted a USB flash drive in the car for a long car trip to save phone battery life, and after removing it I can now only get the car to recognize phone audio, not media audio. I have unpaired and re-paired the phone and car, I have been using Bluetooth Auto Connect since I upgraded from Galaxy S4, I have verified the Bluetooth settings on my phone to make sure Media Audio is checked - all to no avail. If anyone has any ideas on what I can do, I'd love to hear them. I'd rather not put the USB back in as it seems to default to playing from that, regardless of what media I had going when I turned off the car. Thanks!

I have similar issue. G4 connects fine with car and headphones for spotify listening and phone functionality. Sometimes, the next time trying to connect to car or headphones, it will only connect to phone, not media. Solution is to kill processes and clear cache in Settings, Bluetooth..., I have two different Bluetooth processes typically running.

I think this is a software bug by LG that happens unless you actively disconnect bluetooth from car when leaving it. Annoying. I think, but I am not sure, that my previous G2 got the same bug when updating it to 5.0.

I sure hope that LG includes a working bluetooth in next software update. Maybe there are bluetooth connection apps that could work around this bug?

I have the same issue with my Lg G4. I have a mercury milan with Sync. It worked perfectly with my Samsung but with the G4, I have to turn off bluetooth and then turn it back on for it to sync. It's bothersome, but that's all I know to do right now to get the bluetooth to play my music from my phone. It does stay connected for phone calls though.
