LG's Voice Command App

I have an LG L22C (LG Power) with, Android Lollipop, 5.0.1.

There is an app built-in (since I can only disable it) called Voice Command. It only works about 1 out of 3 attempts. I'll hit the button and tell it to make a call and it just quits and sends me to the home screen, the next time it at least confirms the name before it quits and then maybe on the third try it actually calls the person.

Is this something fixable?

What I have done in the meantime is enable the OK Google, but it keeps telling me my phone is locked when it isn't and I tried THOSE fixes and finally allowed it to unlock my phone so I don't get that message. Then, I found a microphone muting app that will mute the phone when it is locked so that I don't inadvertently activate it. I had to do that because I was charging it, the screen was dark and I must have said something that sounded close enough to OK Google because the hag woke up and said "If you just said something, I didn't hear what it was" or something like that. PLUS, I noticed the battery usage drastically increased with changing Google app settings and the mute app must use a ton as well. My battery typically lasts 2 days!

ALL I want is an app that I can push a simple button and say "call XXXXX" and have it actually CALL them. I don't need it to search, open apps, etc. Does such a thing exist? I have tried six other apps and they were way too involved or simply didn't work.

If my first issue listed is not fixable, is there something else I can download? I do appreciate any suggestions. I miss my old Kyocera non-digital phone from 15 years ago. IT had voice commands that actually WORKED!
