As of now, I can get 4 hours of screen time--if i'm lucky. If I listen to music at the gym, i'm lucky if it will last the duration of the workout.

The fingerprint scanner gets extremely hot sometimes, as well. The screen will become very warm, also. While charging, the phone will also overheat.

I thought that maybe it was the battery so I went and purchased another LG battery--wrong again. I charged it up to 100%, as I was instructed to do and as soon as I took it off the charger, it dropped to 97% within 5 minutes.

It's aggravating to say the least. Sometimes, my battery will also start dying when on my car charger/etc--UNLESS, I turn it completely off.

Is it time to upgrade?

Welcome to Android Central! Charge up to 100%, then let it drain to 20-30% with normal usage, without charging in between. Then show us:

1. The main Settings>Battery screen.
2. The fullscreen battery graph screen (which shows Awake time and Cell Signal Strength).
3. The Screen category (to see total Screen On time).
4. The Cell Standby category, if present (to see Time Without Signal).

You might have to install a 3rd party battery monitor, like GSam Battery Monitor, to get the Cell Signal Strength graph.

I have all the same issues you have mentioned. I have tried numerous factory resets which seem to help for a bit but not much. I run GSam and it shows nothing wrong but elevated battery temp. No single app is draining the battery. I have no idea what to do to fix this. The phone is almost useless as it gets so hot that I cant even touch it to my ear or put it in my pocket. Makes me doubt a lot about buying another LG phone. Leaning towards upgrading to the Note 8 instead of the V30.
