Liberty and battery drain

Anyone else having battery drain issues with Liberty? I normally get a full day with the battery at 30-40% by the time I plug it in at bed time.

I put Liberty on last night, did a full charge, and had to recharge today at 6pm as the phone shut down due to low battery. I used it a bit less than usual if anything, so I can't think of any other reason for the battery drain. I charged it to 80% at 6pm, and now (11:40pm) it's at 30% with about 10 minutes of internet and no calls.

I'm running SetCPU to limit CPU to 300mhz when the screen is off, which it is 95% of the time.

Anyone else seeing this? Or have a suggestion for fixing it?

Other than that the ROM is great.

I had battery issues on gummyjar darkslide and this rom. It was stated to boot into recovery and go to advanced. There is some items their to wipe to fix the battery drain. I did it just an hour ago so not sure how its going to work. I wiped the second and third items I believe.

Yep, facebook was constantly running and keeping my phone from sleeping. I just uninstalled and re-installed, hope that fixes the problem. My phone was dead by noon today, normally I get 18+ hours per charge.

Go to spare parts and see what percentage of time your phone is running. If it's like mine, it'll say 100% with a screen on percentage much lower than that. Then check partial wake usage and see what's preventing the phone from sleeping. Hth

No issues here.

When I was on Gummy Jar I had one day where my battery was down to 20 percent before I left work, but that was the only time and only issue I have had. The next day it was back to normal. So far batter life, for me anyway, seems pretty good with Liberty. Of course I do not have FB installed yet....

Worked for me. Been using my phone all day and sitting at 60%.

I just wiped Battery Stats in Recover. I'll see how it does tomorrow.

I've noticed that a few programs aren't installed anymore after wiping. I backed up with Titanium Backup Pro, wiped cache and data twice, installed liberty, and restored all with Titanium. Spare parts showed installed in Titanium, but not in the OS. Had a few other programs like that too. Weird.

Spare parts is built into the rom. Go to settings then liberty settings.

I had wiped the dalvik cache and battery stats in the advance settings when I did the wiping/cache/factory reset, data when I installed it.

However..... yup there is an however , ha ;)

I noticed that my battery isnt lasting as long, "so far" but hopefully it improves .
There are no other issues I found yet .
I will probably see how battery stats are after weekend.:)
I am getting about 18 hrs so far On Liberty was getting about 24-26 on DS but it may be cause of the tweaking of Liberty. Im done with that now so retesting .

I had SUPER heavy usage yesterday because I did not work (still sort of iced/snowed in from the snow last weekend in Atlanta ... a Population 5.5 million covering 8,400 sq miles with a fleet of 104 snow plows/gravel and salt trucks... you do the math).

I changed the theme many times, reinstalled some apps I forgot to back up, did a lot of browsing and had lots of reboots because I was messing around with Liberty (on purpose reboots...not random reboots) and I got 17 hours out of the battery before it died.

Wiping the battery stats seems to have done the trick. Battery life is back to where I'm used to. After 14 hours, I'm at 50%. Next time I do a wipe, I'll add battery stats and Dalvik to the process.

Thanks.

On day 2 with more normal usage my DX is at 60% with 15 hours under it's belt since last unplugged.

TNT! Doing this has gained me an enormous boost in battery life! Thanks again my man!

Is this the same thing Mighty Dingus was talking about?

agreed! this seems to do the trick for most. the dev(s) of liberty should add these instructions during the install process. it's interesting, if anyone has ever loaded a fission rom knows that wiping everything and batt stats before loading their rom is what is required. fission is the only rom ive ever tried that actually included lots of steps before loading, and now i know why.

And as I posted in another thread also my battery life has improved since first installing, getting about the same as when on DS now :D

A good way to increase battery life and performance is to change your window animation settings. Unless you really need them, just shut them off. The System battery usage for me actually went down significantly after doing that.

Edit: also On the note of battery drainage. My phone seems to like to reboot itself about once or twice a day now. Is there a way to fix take or keep it from happening often(like keep more memory free or something)? Or am I going to have to manually reboot my phone once a day?
