Life Long iPhone Fanatic - Change

Day 6....and I'm still loving it! Especially after downloading "Tasker." This opens up the phone to SOOOOO MUCHHHHH MOREEEE!!!

PS: @Fernandez21: I have an apple logo as my Wallpaper :-D

This. I had purchased a few of the navigation apps when I had the iphone and were great but now with android and Google navigation for free there is no need for anything else.

Have you tried using Google navigation in an area where you have no cell or data?

I am new to the android forum land, so I have a question about group messaging with iPhone users......I have an iPhone 4s, I bought the HTC One and loved it but i had a major issue with group texting. I was not receiving replies at all from iphone users in group texts. I had group messaging enabled and my iPad was switched off for iMessages so I dont know what the issue is, as I am an android virgin and not tech savvy! Thank you in advance for any insight.

Been on the One (Neo) for two weeks now including roaming in the UK, and I'm happy with it as well. However, I have a slightly greater appreciation for iOS. Right out the box, the more tightly integrated ecosystem of iOS is easier to work with. I miss Passbook because I used it to pop up my Starbucks card whenever I got to my favorite Starbucks locations. And, I used it for my American Airlines travel. They just popped up at the right place. I also miss Siri believe it or not. She worked great for me setting timers, reminders, alarms, etc. As much as iTunes is bashed, it made syncing playlists real easy, although I just found iSyncr which fixes all my gripes for media syncing.

Sorta stuck myself, seems they ported over all these lil icons and screenshots from every page the old phone ever visited, and I too can't seem to find a way to delete em all. In case misery loves company;-/

I too just switched after being an iPhone user from the very first model. I love it now. I was just tired of after 5 years of basically the same thing. And boy is this different. I love how customizable it is. And this screen just blows my old iPhone away. I picked up my old iPhone today and was amazed how small and bland it looked. I used to think it was fine but after 5 days of htc one it really looks inadequate now.

Looking forward to hearing other former ios converts discoveries and tricks for android. I'm learning new things every day.

One of the things I'm still adjusting to is not being able to tap the top status bar to scroll pages to the top.

Anyone find a way to do this in android?

Why would you want to do that? Anyway, you might want to look at installing one of the launchers like Apex or Nova. They allow customized tap and finger gestures to do certain tasks.

I returned my HTC One today. The power button on the left, no home button to wake the phone up (a la iPhone), a little too big for my taste, already being so deep into the itunes/app store community, and just now realizing that not all apps for Android will work with all devices. This is one area that Apple excels with. You either make an app to work with all devices, or don't make one at all. Plus I really like the side mute button on the iPhone. It just works.

Overall, the One is a VERY nice phone, I was just not completely happy with it. /0.02

Wow I'm really glad to see so many people like me just recently switch from iPhone to HTC One.
I had a iPhone 3g and hated it. IPhone 5 would suck the same way.

This does work in BlinkFeed. Kind of handy when you've scrolled really far down the page and want to switch to another feed. Would be handy in the browser too...

I have had the exact same experience (42 to HTC, group messaging problems with iphones). I have been in contact with HTC to try and resolve it but I am still waiting to hear back from there about what types of solutions they can offer. I am wondering whether it is an issue with the older Android OS or just something with the phone. When I hear back from them I will update.

I had iphone5 since launch..been with HTC ONe for two week..... every night or so I turn on my iphone and play with it via wifi and then look at the ONE...screen, fun ness, etc ...iphone is boring now to me..... both great devices but this is just more fun and better looking screen by miles

I can relate, but the more I use the One the more I love it.....getting ready to make it my main phone and relegate the iPhone5 to the "house" phone. The whole family's in the iOS/OS X world and it is awesome and "Just Works!"....however....I love to tinker, and the android system is totally Awesome for that and the HTC One Rocks!!

I love what Andy Ihnako has written and shared on the Apple circuit (Macworld Podcasts) about why he switched to Android (Samsung S3). It's not that Apple has been defeated, or sucks, it's just that Android works for him at this time. Me Too! I especially enjoyed this quote "If you give half a damn about which multi-billion-dollar corporation ?wins? a totally made-up contest, then you need to drop acid and spend some time in an ashram."

I recently swapped to a HTC One after my iPhone 4's screen bit the dust (fell flat onto concrete, bumper be damned).

I'm loving this phone. Besides tweaking some settings for battery longevity, its an amazing piece of hardware. Sure, it sucks losing out on the apps I purchased from Apple's appstore, but I liken it to buying a new video game system (sans the trade in). All my co-workers can't believe I swapped to Android after being the first in my office to get an iPhone. My only regret is that 80% of the physical Blurays I've purchased that had digital copies are saved to iTunes (I didn't even dare with the MS Media Player version) or Ultraviolet.

haha I was in the same boat as you and I too just recently made the jump. Feels soo much better ! haha have fun with your new one!

this is the only thing that is making me crazy 5 days in after converting from iPhone 4. constantly trying to lock the phone with a non-existant button.

I do also miss the tap the top of the screen to return to the top of the page, but I reckon that I will quickly adjust.

loving it overall though! As much as I thought I was heavily invested in the Apple ecosystem (apps and such) I didn't realize how heavily i was invested in the Google ecosystem, GMail, Calendar, Drive...) and boy do they work smoother together with the phone then they did with the iPhone.

Also pleased with how well apps interact with each other. Seems easier to link from app to app or use data from one app wtih another compared to iOS.

No regrets so far!
