lights on navigation buttons

How do you turn the light on and off on the soft navigation buttons??

As far as I know, they're automatic. Based on the ambient light.

+1 they are based on the light sensor that is located just under the speaker to the left. I think one it the light sensor and the other is proximity.

Thanks for the replies. I am a little confused about it because I have noticed that sometimes at night (while I am charging it next to my bed) the lights go off
It's a bummer because it makes it very hard to use in the dark room. That's why I was hoping there would be a way I could turn the backlight back on.

Actually what I have noticed it that whenever my phone is connected to the charger - regardless of the ambient light condition - the capacitative button lights will not turn on when I wake the phone for anything. If you disconnect the power, the lights will come right on for you to use ~ weird behavior...

No, it uses the flash that's on the back. I thought it would help you see in the dark better.
