I'm one of those who favor the original Bionic form instead of the new one, and now that the Motorola Photon has been announced I feel we have been shafted with lack of creativity with the design. Nothing about the new form says "BIONIC". And yes I know for some it's all about the specs then the design and others prefer simple plain non-flashy but when you drop close to $300 for a phone you want it to look good and perform well..... sort of like your significant other. In the end I will probably end up with the bionic like the OG droid which form I did not like either.

I'm not sure why I want a kick stand. Or if I'd even use it. But it would have been nice

New form is garbage. Waste of front face real estate. Bottom bezel is rediculous! It will irritate me no doubt knowing we almost had ces Bionic, and now sprint gets the form factor. And no I don't like the semi changed form of photon vs ces bionic, but its better than the new slab we are getting.

I was 90% sure, if the Sprint Photon used the CES bionic form factor, i was going to leave verizon for it.
But to my surprise it didnt.

The photon looks mildly better than Targa, but both are not very attractive.

Like there arent enough black slab phones out there. I mean they could atleast give us a different color, maybe white or silver, or brown.

I really do not care about the Form as long as it is 4.3" And have all the the dual core love with 4G!!!

Looks are not even of importance to me. I'm disappointed Motorola has ruined an otherwise great device with CrapTop.

I feel the need to give a different perspective on WebTop. This is from an Atrix owner on XDA:

" The link below is a dump of the /dev/block/mmcblk0p13 partition.

It is the entire ubuntu "distribution". However, it is not an OS per say. It is just an environment compiled and setup to run on the "android linux". Everything just runs from a second X session started on top of the native Android Arm linux redirected to the HDMI display port.

The partition has about 800MB in size and is mounted under /osh once the system boots.

Something worth to note, is that the webtop X session does not consume any RAM or system resource at all till when the phone enters RM_SM_DOCKED mode. While the phone is on RM_SM_MOBILE mode, that X session is complete shutdown."

This makes much more sense to me than the idea of a complete second OS.
I also can't speak to whether WebTop is any good or not, but if this is true, and you never use it, it is only taking up storage and no other resources.

I voted dislike. Love the new stats and love the larger size but do not like the new look verses the old look.

That makes a lot more sense to me as well. I do not know if it is factual, but it sounds more reasonable. Seems odd they would eat up a large majority of ram for a service they realize many people will never use. Not impossible considering we are talking about Moto. Guess I will be looking for confirmation on this, maybe I will try to get ahold of Moto Tech guy tomorrow and get their views on the subject.

I'm not sure we can intelligently comment on the form factor yet. I have yet to see a picture from the side to see if there is a ridiculous bump or not...

It is certainly a more mature form factor to be sure. Definitely more deserving of an LTE flagship. Not as fun for us geeks though.

It should be more polished, however, which will only do more to win more people over to Android.

I'm annoyed with the new size of phones. Why is everything getting bigger? When I first got my Droid 1 I was shocked at the size and heft of the phone. It's kind of like having a brick in your pocket. You can still have a great screen, processor, etc. and not have to hold a laptop to your face when talking on the phone.

that being said, I'll probably buy the Bionic for it's capabilities not its form...

To answer the Poll, it would have to look like a Banana to shake me.

I guess everyone here knows how I do not believe the leaked pics are of the Bionics's form factor. I think the pics are more likely to be the D3. But I wait for Curtain No.3 to open eh?

If the leaked pics are indeed true to form I just want you to know Wiener has access to my login.

It may not be Bionic, but its definitely not Droid 3

I like the original but the new looks good also. I went to AT&T while I was out messed around with the Infuse!!! Great Screen and Super Amoled Plus was sharp for a 4.5" screen. I loved it so if the Bionic comes with 4.5" Screen I can deal with it but would prefer 4.3" Screen...

For the people who are saying that the Photon looks better: what are you smoking? The new Bionic form factor blows that thing out of the water! The Photon looks like a Samsung featurephone.

As for the new pictures: I think that the new form factor looks far better than Etna. I don't need a flashy phone, I just want a solid piece of hardware that will withstand a very small amount of abuse.

As far as I know, no one has seen a Bionic form factor yet. Those so called leaked pics are total BS in my opinion. So hold your horses guy. You have not seen anofficial Bionic yet eh?

Seeing as you thought that those pics were of the D3, I'm not really going to take your opinion into consideration. The D3 doesn't look anything like those leaked pictures. It has a much smaller screen and much different profile overall, not to mention the fact that it doesn't have a huge "4G LTE" marking on the back of the phone.

If that isn't the Bionic in those pictures, what else could it be? Based upon the info from all of the tipsters like Wnrussell, it seems like that could only be Bionic. There isn't anything out there that matches up with those pictures (markings, screen size, etc.). If you're telling me that there's another Motorola LTE phone for Verizon on the horizon, then that's news to everyone.
