"Line shadow" down the display

So if I look at my Note 3's display with a color like grey, there's a giant line going down the screen, among other lines. I this normal with AMOLED displays? My Galaxy Nexus had this too.

Is it just a reflection sort of thing?

What are the exact procedure to reproduce this?

Don't mind the diagonal lines, that's just from the camera. The arrow points at a subtle line that goes straight down the display. It's a lot easier to see in real life.

It's just visible anywhere on the display that's showing whatever color range it's visible in. Grey seems to make it the most visible.

And I'm pretty sure it's not a reflection of any kind.

That's weird, if its not part of a screen protector (can't see if you have one), I would go for an exchange. Possibly defect (dirt) on an underlying layer.

I don't use a screen protector and I cleaned it before taking the picture.

Ugh, I hate exchanging, but I have the loose button too. They already hate me at the Verizon store from when I exchanged 3 OG Droids because of dead pixels and dust under the screen, and then I wanted a 4th but they refused. I'm scared that I'm going to exchange it, and then something worse will be wrong with my new one, like what happened with my Droids every time.

aahh, I feel for ya. It's a big investment though. You only talk to them once every few years, they probably forgot your Droid thing already.
