Link ringer and notification volume?

Is there a way to link the ringer and notification volume on the G4? I found one thread of people complaining about them being linked before, and that one of the updates changed it. I don't see the the point of separate volumes and would like to link mine. When I turn the ringer volume down, I expect it to do the same with all notifications. That's the way it's been on every device I've had up until now.

I use the Simple Volume app to link all the ringers to each other.
