Linking Facebook profile photo to Google contacts on phone

Hello. I could of sworn in the past I had all my google contacts with linked facebook accounts to automatically update my profile photo to my contacts. Now for some reason if my wife for example changes her profile photo, it doesn't update on my contact card for her. I have tried to manually sync but still nothing. Can someone please give some pointers as to how to properly set this up. Thank you in advance.
