Hello all,
New to the forum and looks like a great place to gain some knowledge as well as advice.

I have had my original droid for over a year now. My wife is using the LG Envy and we are on a family plan.

We both want to upgrade and possibly get a better plan. Anyways, we inquired with AT&T and found some phones over there we liked.

I called Verizon and asked about cancellation (ouch...300 for both of us!) and told them about the AT&T deal. My wife is eligible now for an early upgrade...I am not.
Anyways...this is what was offerred.
We both can get the Thunderbolt for 199.99 each. I can return my droid for a $55 credit. Also, our plan would be 700 minutes, 5 friends/family, unlimited text, and two unlimited data plans for 123 a month (that includes my discount).

Does this seem like a good deal and what are the thoughts on getting the thunderbolts (wife also thought about iphone, as did I).

thanks!

Sounds reasonable... VZW has the iPhone, but that's just an iPhone (3G... and it's an iPhone). It's sounds like you know Android's.

Personally, I went to AT&T for a 2 year contract several years ago, and regretted it in a very short time... but everybody's experience is always a little different, but not all.

199.99 is not a bad price for the bolt. thats what I paid on release day.

as for the plan, to each their own. if it meets what you and your family need then go for it.
I have a family plan with 4 lines. 400min ( we dont really call much..and when we do we normally talk in network) unlimited text on 4 phones and unlimited data on 3 phones. and I believe we are around $200ish/m (with a corp discount)

dont hold off too long as data prices are looking to go up this summer. good luck

btw. the thunderbolt is awesome..just so you know :)

thanks everyone. with the rate these things come out, I was tempted to wait for the new 4G droid but this seemed reasonable from verizon, plus the plan wasn't bad. i was hoping they cut me a deal on the accessories or even throw em in, but hey, can't ask for everything right lol

unfortunately i just spoke to them and they said it is for 2 year pricing. 70 more for each phone if I do one year pricing....seriously.

$70 more each is the going rate... and there are doing away with the 1 year contracts VERY, VERY SOON... it might even be this week.
