I rooted my phone with unrevoked and then decided to do the ota for the 30 frames uncap issuse. I'm at work so I have plenty of time to kill. So now its been 20mins and my phone is stuck with a little android and a triangle with a orangish exclamation mark inside. what did i do wrong? After the update i was just going to root over, because i got time.

No, the way I read most threads it didn't seem like I had to. Just update and then re-root. But if I have to, then that's my fault for not asking around.

Yeah you have to. I read it that way too and when I tried I was stuck where you are. You have to unroot go back to stock update the ota then reroot. The ota update wasn't worth it to me since rooting already uncapped me so I didn't bother with it.

After going back to the stock root, upgrading via the OTA is quick and then you can re-root. Make a back up though, cause you will loose your data. That includes syncing and if you backup, then at least make a list of the applications you are running. Some applications also have functionality in them to backup their data to the card and that needs to be done to get running quicker.

Hmm.. i didn't have to unroot. The developer of the rom I use sent me pc36img file and all I had to do was put that file in the sd card.. boot the phone into bootloader and it'll load the pc file. Hit yes to update and that was it. I was back to stock 2.2. I'll see if I can find the file and I'll post it.

Edit: don't do the ota just for the fps removal. There's tons of kernels that have it already unlocked and there's even the latest ota fps unlock kernel available too

after thinking it over, I believe I'll download the zip file for the rooted ota and leave it on the computer if I ever want it... Been looking at custom roms, so I'll go in that direction
