Little issue on watch 5 since last update

I updated this new update yesterday and have found it a little annoying.

If i took my watch off before, it would instantly ask me to put my lock screen code straight away.

Now after this update, it doesn't show that screen at all and just acts as a standalone watch, my steps and heart rate show as blank until i press the top button on the watch, and it then asks for the code, then after i put it in everything returns to normal.

I really liked that it asked for the code straight away before though.

Before the update, I don't remember my GW5 asking me for my code when I took my watch off. Maybe I just wasn't paying attention because when I take my watch off it's usually to charge, shower or something where I'm not going to pay attention to it. But before & after the update, my watch asks me for the code anytime I pick it up when it's not on my wrist. I'm pretty certain, but not 100% certain, that if I put in the code without putting the watch on my wrist, it will ask me for a code everytime I pick it up until I put it on my wrist. I do know that without putting in my code, I can only get limited info from my watch (time, battery level). My watch is currently charging now but when it's done, I'm going to test these scenarios out to see what actually happens.

I have never been prompted for a code on my W4C nor my W5...even in Tizen days. I don't even know how to set that up. That sounds very annoying. Is this a function only on LTE watches?

You are only forced to use a code, as far as I know, if you are using a payment method, (Samsung or Google pay), and have a card linked to your watch, whether LTE or BT.

You only get prompted for it when you first put on your watch, or if your watch is not on your wrist, anytime you want to interact with it while holding it.

It will only prompt for a code if you have set it up to secure it. If you use samsung pay or Google Wallet, it will make you put a pin in. If those 2 are not set up it shouldn't.

Yes! I never had to use a code prior to using Google Pay/Google Wallet on my watch.
