Searched but no help, solutions not applicable to OnePlus phones.
Settings listed are not on my phone.
Really driving me nutso, have gone through all Settings a dozen times.

I found it . You enter the accessibility to see what this short cut activates, then you enter privacy settings, you will find accessibility special access under permissions. When you enter that, you will find to activate or deactivate the permission for that app, and it will cause this man to disappear. For me it was special permission for Kaspersky app

ANSWER for the annoying LITTLE MAN that keeps popping up in the top left corner... the one that looks like it is listening in.

That is coming from your Google Maps location...
If you have ever shared or had someone share their location on your maps... that is it. It's checking your location.

Below is a screenshot from my list of Notifications History. You can see the Little Man on there several times. He jas been driving me crazy because I didn't know what it was.

Hope this helps anyone that has been driven crazy by it too.

Welcome to Android Central! Thanks for your input, but FYI, that "little man" is a different icon than the one mentioned in the original post (which is the Accessibility icon at the lower right of the screen). Than one is a simple stick figure, while the one you're discussing is a stylized head/shoulders with waves emitting from the head.
