Live Messages

An app called Live Messages installed on my Note 8 yesterday. I remember seeing this in the advertising when the N8 was initially released. I don't see any difference in my SMS app and don't see a separate icon for this app. How does Live Messages work?

via your spen and the spen panel. if you're not using the panel, you can invoke it by two clicks of the button when held close to the screen.

in messages, long press the settings button that's near the space bar. one of the icons will be a heart, that's it as well

I'm using the Google keyboard. Probably need to use Samsung keyboard for that option.

probably because I never see that option either and I'm using swiftkey

Yes, it's a samsung keyboard feature, but you can change keyboard by pressing the box on the bottom right of your keyboard. Well i can on my BlackBerry virtual keyboard. So, switch keyboard just for the purpose of using the live message feature, then switch back.

I can attach live messages in textra with changing keyboards.

You'll find the switch keyboard box in the same place on the samsung keyboard :

Pull out the S-pen and you will see the Live Message icon on the carousel. Once you are done, you can send it through several different methods (Allo, Facebook Messenger, SMS, email, etc) regardless of keyboard.
