With my Texas Rangers nearing their first World Series I was hoping someone could tell me if it is possible to watch a live MLB broadcast online on the fascinate as it exists today not having Froyo. Tomorrow's (10/20) game is during the day so I wanted to watch as I'm headed home from work on the train.

I know some people have had success going to certain stream websites but I'm having flash difficulties there.

The easiest way is to get a Slingbox, hook it up to your tv, and stream it to your phone. No worries about Flash or too many people using the bandwidth for a web site.

You cannot watch online as online streaming requires flash. I am also fairly certain that any live TV streaming apps on the market require 2.2 or advertise they work on 2.1 but are utter garbage.

i thought fascinate has flash.

Not til 2.2. Which a little birdie told me is starting to roll out.

You can watch it, to watch live ESPN, or any stream really, just download the "Skyfire" browser from the apps store (it supports flash). After you have installed the browser, open it up and google search "justin tv sports" and click on the first link. The most popular games will be on the first page that opens up. You will see many videos, click on the one you want. After clicking on the video a little black screen will pop up in the bottom left-hand side of the screen (if it does not, click the "menu" softkey and you will be able to select video). Once you have clicked on the black screen, it will buffer, then begin playing. I recommend selecting the videos with an "HQ" in the upper right portion of the videos. I've watched live college football games from ESPN, CBS, you name it.

I hope you're able to watch the game because the Yankees will take it in 6 :p

I use the ESPN Score Center app. It's not live, but it updates with each pitch and gives stats. So for those times when I can't watch the game I use that. You can also get TuneIn Radio and find your local ESPN radio station and listen to it that way.

Tune In Radio: TuneIn Radio - Android app on AppBrain

ESPN Score Center: ESPN ScoreCenter - Android app on AppBrain

Adobe Flash 10.1.95.2 (for Android version 2.2 and higher). This means that Android 2.1 does not support full flash. It has flash lite. Not 100% sure that Flash Lite will do it.

All I can say is that some folkes will begin to see an OTA in the coming weeks. My birdie might be jumping the gun but I trust my birdie.

I doubt 2.2 will be coming in the next few weeks given Verizon's track record with updates.

And +1 on the slingbox, i love mine!

As for the the radio apps, MLB has restrictions on streaming live broadcasts, so you won't hear the games streamed (that pretty much goes for any sport, the radio station will default to other programming)

Nice! I totally forget about Skyfire sometimes, is it your go-to browser or just for flash?

Justin.tv and Veetle is how I watch stuff at home since I don't have an actual television.

I've tried the skyfire browser and atdhe.net but it did not work. The flash symbol showed up. I assumed it wouldnt be any different with justintv?

if/when Hulu Plus comes to Android, i'd seriously look into it... i was using it pretty religiously on my iP4, since i sit on a street corner as a paramedic... it was good entertainment...

Awesome, thank you so much, you just saved me from having to buy a slingbox. At first I couldn't figure out how to load the video in skyfire until reading your post!

Nice, glad you got it working!

Skyfire and Justin TV work, I only get the flash symbol on Justin TV if I try to use the stock browser, which does not have flash.

Well, I followed the OP's instructions to the letter, and all I get is a still picture. Everything worked , buffered etc, but then just a still picture. Any suggestions ? (this is on Justintv) Thnx ( and yes used Skyfire)

I assume your trying to watch the MLB game? I am getting the same thing. Not sure why, I have never had any problem watching NFL, NCAA games. The only thing I can suggest is to try a different stream.

EDIT: I checked this online with my computer and I am getting the same thing, so its something on their end. Try Banko3's channel, I was able to get it to play on there.
