live wallpaper vs regular wallpaper

Hey guys I'm just trying to see how many people are using live wallpapers on the droid....so vote weither you are using a live wallpaper or a solid one.

The live wallpapers are pretty awesome but they weren't stable on mine. Handcent would kick me out of it from time to time. I go back every so often just to make my non-droid friends jealous

live wallpaper looks cool, but i just notice too much of a slowdown when i use them.

I don't notice much of a slowdown because I'm overclocked but I do notice my battery drains faster. Just goes to show that bells and whistles are nice to look at but not something you need all of the time.

One thing for sure, Google is on top of the innovation game. I hope they patented the idea so that apple doesn't file for it first.

I use live wallpapers from time to time. I honestly don't notice a battery drain at all. I have a friend who has a Cricket Wireless phone. I showed her the live wallpapers on my phone and she's all jealous now. LOL

2 things. if i had a cricket phone i'd be jealous of any smartphone, hell id be jealous of an iPhone user haha (did i just say that)

second thing, are you rooted and over clocked? that may be why i am experiencing a faster battery drain. since i am not experiencing any lag and it is processing smoothly with my overclock settings it might be using more resources in order to have that smoothness.

in all honesty the live wallpapers are nice but in the end they are just a selling point. nobody else has done this aside from android. the difference between this gimmick and other companies with their gimmicks is that Google is not relying on this to sell their phones, it is just a perk for using android.

I love the live wallpapers, but they are too much of a resource hog. I want to run th new Beautiful Live Weather all the time. It is amazing, but I can't give up my speed.

Yep, I'm with most here, live wall papers slow down the phone and drain the battery.

I agree they are a good feature to "show off to your non-Droid or iPhone friends" and that's it. They aren't really a good day to day thing because no matter what people say, they will still kill battery faster and eat up processing power.

I run live wallpapers from time to time as well, but I did notice it being a bit of a battery hog so I don't use them all the time. I did at first when 2.1 came out but since then, not so much.

Love the water live wallpaper, but I made the mistake of shutting it off for a while, while using LauncherPro. Much smoother and snappier without live wallpaper running. Beautiful Widgets weather screen animates smoother, also.

I'll probably go back at some point, but enjoying the speedy launcher, for now.

I equate the Live Wallpapers to the Premium Themes that have been available on Playstation 3. Same thing, just on a phone.
