Why do I keep getting this notification.? I am not using apps that need it, cleared all running apps, and even restarted.

Did you ever figure this one out? I thought G4 was the only phone with that issue but I'm getting the same location found notification on S6 Edge as well. Nexus 6 never did that on Lollipop.

Do you have Smart settings on with My Place enabled?

If so, you're lucky. I've been trying to get it to do that lol

I had Verizon phone so there is nothing smart about it or smart settings found on the phone. My S6 keeps doing that too for some reason lol

No, still does it and it is very random. I'd understand it if I opened maps or something. It must be damn Google.

My Droid Turbo did this as well.

Oddly enough, I haven't noticed it but maybe once in the several days I've had my G4.

The only time I see a Location Found type of notification is when I try to locate my phone on Google search typing in "find my phone". It will locate my phone in the browser and I believe I get a notification on my phone telling someone did a location check.

Maybe someone is checking up on you OP. Does your spouse know your Google password?

Maybe my ex... Hahaha. No, it's a relatively new password and haven't had any notifications of people attempting to locate.

Okay I just tried it and the notification actually said "Device Located" instead of "Location Found". You must have another app installed by your or by the carrier? Probably the default carrier phone locator app.. the one that they want you to pay $2.99 per month so your family could locate you! LOL

I noticed that I get that same notification when I use certain apps that use location. Such as snapchat. Every time I open up snapchat I get the location found notification.

All it seems to be is a notification, too. That is, in my Turbo's list of apps there was a GPS Notifier app. If you force stop it, the notifications that Location Found go away. It seems that everything would work just fine without this seemingly useless little notification.

I can't check the G4 for that standalone app as it's off and charging at the moment...

Yeah it's useless. I don't know why it pops up. I don't need to know every time the GPS has found my location. Just find my location and that's that. I trust you phone!

But then navigation through google maps doesn't work and you have to change it again and all, right?

My phone has been stuck on this location thing for the last 10 minutes.
Keeps saying location found and looks again, location found and looks again. I turned off google location history to no avail. Someone please help us find a solution

Have you tried tap and hold on the notification? It will tell you which app issues that notification.

It happens about every minute and comes from system UI. First finding location, then location found. Makes it hard to select another open app when they keep moving.

That notification is from Android Device manager (at least in my case). I have that installed on my kids devices (for when they lose them around the house LOL) and whenever I us Android Device manager on my PC to have their device ring, when found that notification is always in their pull down ... Hopefully that'll help

I have that installed as well, but I see the notification of Location Found pop up when I'm not using that app. Does Device Manager keep tabs on us even when we aren't actively locating a phone? If not, I think the Location Found notification is popping up for more than just DM.
