lock scree widgets won't work

I have the S4 and I can't add widgets on my lock screen.. I've taken off my password but that doesn't seem to fix anything.. help!!

Hi and welcome to forums...Okay did you go to Setting>mydevice>lockscreen>and enable the widgets. If you did that then lock you phone and where the time and date is touch and drag it down then slide to the right,then click the + button then pick your widgets. Hope this was easy to understand.

You have to have the lock screen set for swipe. Apparently if you have any other setting there you only have the clock widget.

The you swipe left or right and you can add widgets. You have to swipe on the clock itself for this to work.

Thank you so much! i thought my phone was defective! it works now as i set it to swipe

i tried settings>my devices> lock screen it wont work. nothing will pop out same as home screen mode, nothing. what am i going to do? i also tried sliding the 'Life Companion' in the lock screen downwards still nothing no edit sign. HELP PLS my phone is samsung galaxy s4
