Lock screen security/screen timing out issue

I had posted another thread about problems with Android Pay but it turns out that when I change the lock screen security to something other than Swipe, it seems to disable the Smart Stay and the screen goes dark in about 5 or 10 seconds no matter what the phone is doing. When I change back to Swipe security it's fine. I'm curious if anyone else has this problem or if I need to disable Smart Stay in order to use a higher lock screen security which as you know is required when using a mobile payment app. Thanks

Had a chat with Sammy tech support. booted the phone in Safe Mode and it worked fine. The tech said I need to remove every third party app and reinstall in order to solve the problem. Not sure I want to go through all of that just to use Android Pay. Any ideas which apps might be causing the screen timing out?

OK friends.. I figured out the problem. I had Juice Defender set to "Aggressive" and once I changed it back to "Balanced" the screen remains on after changing the lock screen. Sherlock Holmes has solved the problem..Sorry I didn't try that before posting this, LOL
