On Marshmallow you can turn them off.
Settings, lock screen and security, info and app shortcuts then app shortcuts.

Welcome to the forums! As far as I know there's no way to do that unless you flash a custom ROM. Sorry.

Stock ROM on my Verizon Note 5
Must be a Samsung thing. You can turn them off or add any app you want.

Yeah, nothing like that in Moto devices.
