I hope you enjoy your Evo. It works like every other Android phone out there for the most part. The exception being the switched Home and Menu buttons.

New to Android too? Welcome. To change the Android screen lock timeout settings, go to your homescreen, press Menu-> Settings->Display>Screen timeout.

To change your timeout settings for passwords or PINs, go to Settings->Security.

Go to settings > display & turn off screen time out, or extend it to a comfortable timeout. The Phone screen times out to help save battery pwer.
