This is a different lock screen problem.
Ignore this post. I solved my self-induced problem.
I have a self induced problem I never had a screen lock on my Pixel. I tried the fingerprint feature but I had problems. I decided to go back to no lock screen. I don't know what happened but I ended up with a lock screen that I had lots of problems. I'm back to near normal but when the display times out, I have the same problem. My settings still shows that there is a password in the lock screen settings. How do I make the setting indicate NONE as it was before I started messing with it. Thanks .
