Lock sound issue on Galaxy S3

When i lock my s3 it wont make a lock sound only when u unlock it

You have Settings -> My device (if using the Tab view) -> Sound -> 'Screen lock sound' checked?

And you have 'System' turned up sufficiently in the Volume controls to be able to hear it?

It works fine for both circumstances on my phone.

Which lock activity are you referring to? If I wait for the screen timeout to lock the device it doesn't make any sound; however, if I press the Power button to lock the screen it does.

When u push the power button on the side my phone wont make a lock sound only when u unlock it

You can try booting into Safe mode http://support.verizonwireless.com/support/devices/knowledge_base.html/59242 and see if it behaves correctly; otherwise I'm out of ideas (besides a Factory Reset).
