It was made by speck, yeah never heard of them either. Welp grandma some how managed to set a pin on her tablet. The problem I'm getting is when I select factor reset it just turns off.

So your grandma created a PIN and then forgot it?
When you choose the factory reset option from the Recovery Menu, does it ask for the PIN again?

Can you show us a better shot of that Recovery Menu? It doesn't look standard for Android devices, which makes me think there's a custom ROM installed on it.

You press the home key and it turns off or the power button after highlighting factory reset?
It might have a software or hardware issue being that old , can try flashing with Odin the stock firmware but you would need to find what firmware it's on and where to download like sammobile, I have a funny feeling that probably won't help but can try
