Looking to maybe upgrade my note 8 to the new line. Samsung is offering way more than ATT is. How bad is waiting for updates on an unlocked Samsung vs a carrier version?

Looking to maybe upgrade my note 8 to the new line. Samsung is offering way more than ATT is. How bad is waiting for updates on an unlocked Samsung vs a carrier version?

It is not so much the updates. It is the carrier services that are a concern. Wifi Calling, VoLTE and HDVoice. All of those have not been available with unlocked devices on ATT in the past.

There has been a lot of talk on Reddit about ATT making changes to that policy though, so there is a chance that the Note10 might be green lighted for those carrier services, but won't know until Wed

You can still get your ATT phone straight from Samsung website. You don't have to get unlocked
