Hi, this maybe a stupid question, but is there any way of locking the volume buttons on the Note? I am always inadvertantly increasing the volume, and my iBolt car dock sets the support leg right on the volume button.

Try volume locker. I have the same problem.

I'm finding it difficult to solve the problem in the car dock.

All I can do is offset the phone so the holder doesnt touch the button. Even with volume locker I struggle to make it work, as the dock is continually trying to change the volume.

I would like a solution that actually temporarily disables the buttons altogether, not just reverts after the volume has been adjusted.

Maybe I need to modify the dock leg a little, perhaps I can hack the rubber pad just where the button sits as the button is quite narrow.

Turn the phone with the volume button on top...the way it should be.

I want the home button and menu controls on the right, nearest to me with the phone central on the dashboard.

I did minor surgery and removed a rubber ridge from the mount leg, which works fine.

You may want to try and mount to the left of steering wheel. You can get the phone much closer..way easier to see and not obstructing the center of your windshield. At first I didn't see it working, but promise you will wonder why you never put there before.

Left of the steering wheel is centre of the dash here in the UK :)

I have it central to connect to the charger in the socket directly below it, I could consider routing a dedicated power cable behind the dash at some point.

Also, if it was to the right of my steering wheel I think it would be harder to plug in the usb connector into the phone, there would be less visibility especially in the dark.

I have it placed so low down close to the dash it doesn't obstruct anything in the windscreen. My dashboard has a big instrument panel hump in the way which would make the phone higher and obtrusive I think.
