Lollipop 5.0.1 ??

Why is it for every Nexus but 5? I'm so ready to throw my phone at a wall. BF's 6 works perfectly...he doesn't need the update, *I* do. :)

I have no idea. I'm told the Lollipop upgrade is not carrier specific (my phone is a typical Nexus 5 purchased from Google) and supposedly is not country specific so, yeah, why no upgrade? When 4.4.4 was released I waited 2 months from the release date until Google graciously pushed that to me, too.

I sure would like to know how rollout is determined, what I read on the Web is clearly BS.

That is not disclosed by Google. Most likely a daily rollout, starting small, to a random number of serial numbers. It then is ramped up over time if no issues are reported. It is not uncommon for rollouts to take over a week once started. 2 months? That would either be something horribly wrong with the process, or you are counting in a period when they halted the rollout (which is exactly what they did with the 5.0 rollout to the Nexus 7.1 because it was causing major issues... and they still have not resolved them... and they have still not started the 5.0.1 rollout on that device yet).

It is not every Nexus. As I just posted, they don't even have a 5.0.1 image for the Nexus 7.1 yet. 5.0.1 *is* supposedly rolling out to the Nexus 5 now... and considering how many issues they had with 5.0, I expect it to be a sloooooooooow rollout.

Google tech support said to me that that the rollout is regional, and not yet complete. That I have not received it (Sydney Australia) after a month does suggest you may be on the money and they have temporarily halted it while fixing some issue. I'm not so fussed that I'd sideload. Just bemuses me reading the complaints 3 or 4 days after the rollout begins where owners who haven't received it are indignantly verbally frying Google and saying they're changing to iOS because of the delay. Well, welcome to my world! :)

Whoever told you that is wrong or just made it up. It is not regional, unless they mean country as a region.

OK, I don't think of that as regional, but yeah, they do select countries for rollout for some strange reason. (If you use the term "regional" to most Americans, they will think of regions of the country, such as Mid-Atlantic, Mid-West, South-West, etc).

and they have temporarily halted it while fixing some issue.

That would not surprise me with this whole 5.X debacle.

Sorry, I have none. In fact, I think I am confusing the N7.2 with the 5 (I have been reading different forums as of late). Although, there is a 5.0.1 factory image, since I saw that the other day on Google's site. And there are also OTA images, as I saw in an AC article. But I haven't seen anyone mention they got it yet on the 5.0.1 OTA.

Alright because there is no image for 5.0.1 for the 5 on Google's site.

Sent from my Nexus 5

I'm not sure where the tech support was based. Possibly outside the USA Google think of regions as e.g. Australia/New Zealand, South East Asia, Western Europe. That's certainly the way I took it from their message. It will be interesting to see what build number i get, when I finally receive Lollipop. I'm wondering if it will be this year.
