lollipop Camera Problems

If I take a photo and try to edit it gallery will not open and I am returned to the camera view.
But if I unmount the SD card I have no problem opening the photo for editing.
Any ideas?

When the SD card is mounted, are photos saving to the card by default? If so, then the card itself might be faulty or corrupt. Try using a different card.
