So I cleared enough data for it to download. Got through the download process fine. It shuts off and then on to do the installation process. Midway between the installation the little droid screams error and then the installation stops. Anyone came across this and have any idea on what to do to fix it?? Or..by looking at others problems with lollipop should I not even bother for now? :p

If the phone is still working on KitKat, consider yourself lucky and leave it that way. (I'm still running 4.4.2 on a Note 3. I don't need the SSL patch from 4.4.4, so there's no reason for me to update. LolliFlop? Maybe if 5.1.1 is actually a working version (and when someone figures out how to root it).

But with an Amoled screen (which is what Samsung uses), all that white costs a lot of battery. And I don't see that I'm gaining anything of any importance.

If you REALLY want it, though, bring the phone to your carrier and ask if they can please flash the update for you. (As long as the phone isn't rooted or running a modified ROM - in either of those 2 cases, the update should fail. Updating a phone like that could brick it.)
