My 12.2 prompted me last night that it was ready for Lollipop. I went ahead and installed it and had some issues. First was the pull down notification bar, it kept randomly coming down on it's own. Next was a side loaded app I had, the icon was on the screen but it says it was no longer installed. I tried reinstalling the app and it constantly displays the app was not installed after the installation.
I decided that since my Nexus 7 (2013) did not go well after it's Lollipop install and required a reset that I would do the same on the 12.2. The notification problem went away after the reset. But I still cannot install my side loaded app, it keeps stating the app was not installed after running the install. Otherwise Lollipop is running well on my device.
I never rooted an Android device before. What's involved with rooting a 12.2 running Lollipop? Do the current root howto's work or do they assume it's Kitkat and I might brick it? Do I need to wait for a root kit that is aware of Lollipop on the 12.2?
