If it is an OTA upgrade then no. However, there have a lot of people doing OTA only find that there phone is slow and using high battery consumption. This can usually be resolved with a factory reset, and this will erase your data and installed apps. It returns your phone back to what was installed when you bought it. The best way to upgrade (I am sure someone will say otherwise) is to Flash the new ROM file to phone. This will cause data loss also. By Flashing you have a clean install of everything ROM, Apps and your backed up data. You do, do backup correct?
