Long press to unlock instead of double tap?

Android Central Question

I switched from an s9+ to an s20 5g. With the s9, I really liked the feature of being able to press the home button on screen when locked, to instantly unlock and take me to my home screen. With the s20, the best I can do is double tap to take me to the lock screen. Is there a setting or app that can replicate the same feature on the s20 as I had on the s9? I really liked the simplicity of it.

Re: long press to unlock instead of double tap

2nd that. The fingerprint reader can be use to accomplish the same thing as the home button did on the S9. Even better as it keeps your phone locked from allowing anyone else to open it.
If you can remember where the fingerprint placement is can unlock there and go straight to hone screen without double tap .

Thanks guys the finger print works great!! I HATED that they did away with the hard press to unlock, and this is so much better

Unless you're sleeping and they scan your finger... Or they make you unconscious and then scan your finger... Or cut your finger and steal it along with your phone...

I always go for the mid-complicated passcode with phone wipe after 15 wrong attempts... Safest in my opinion!

I do my big toe on my left 🦶 they never check it for biometric:)

You really worry about that?
Not that much

But.. I've always been over-cautious with computer security and data privacy in general. So it's always been rather obvious for me that the safest way to keep my phone data private was password way over fingerprint.

I wonder how many jealous, or maybe just curious husbands, wives, boyfriends, girlfriends have unlocked their partners' phone during their sleep lol!

But you still wake up with a missing finger once in a while :p
