Long video split in two?

I was recording video of my kids' Christmas musical the other day. For some inexplicable reason, it stopped at around 24 minutes, and continued on as another video. Anyone have that happen before? Why would it do that?

You can use a third party camera app to get by the system default file size maximums for video recordings. Open Camera for one gives you that option.

I experienced this a few weeks ago as well. But mine actually stopped at around 12min before automatically continuing on to a new vid. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that the resolution was set at 4k and I was recording in a really dark environment.

I could see the resolution might have something to do with it, but the dark environment? My video was recorded in those conditions, but I'm baffled.

Do we know what the system default size maximums are? There's not a way of toggling those off, or raising them higher? I do have another camera app (Manual Camera), but I'd like to avoid having to use another app unless there's no solution to extend recording times.
