I have two tablets mounted in my kitchen that display weather. I would like to find an app that would keep the tabs screen on while I'm in the room and turn off when I leave. Back on when I enter. Thank you.

One workaround but which is not that automatic is to link their power cables to the same switch as turns on a light in the kitchen then configure the tablets to keep the screen on when charging and to time out when not (*). Or maybe there is a motion sensitive plug you can use with the chargers?

(*) I use the Stay Alive! app which has a setting to allow you do this. Ah! No longer on the app store but there seem to similar apps with names like Screen Alive to look at.

Hello all, I am the original poster, I registered.

Mustang7757 - Junkie no name. I rooted and stripped them of all apps but two, browser & weather. I am open to getting better tabs if need be.

Gomez - That is an interesting idea, put them on a motion sensor plug or switch, I'll have see how I can do this.

Last night I stumbled on a ipad forum where he was needing something similar and was suggested Kiosk apps, Fully Kiosk is one app. I might experiment with just for the fun.

The reason for all this, I'm afraid of "screen burn in" if left on 24/7. I have a few Galaxy S2 that I would like to use but don't want to ruin them.

Thanks all.
