Look like the Note 4 will have pretty good battery life after all!

+1, androidauthority only had about 4hr 25m screen on time, so the 9+hr seems unreal, they probably turned off GPS and cellular, which sucks up the most juice.

There's a difference between 9 straight hours of use vs. 4 hours of use with periods of idle time between uses. The Note 4 exhibits drain in standby so it's only natural to expect lower screen on time when large periods of idle are experienced.

I agree. Likely on Wifi for the entire test. 4G/3G/etc take the most juice. And, the # of apps you have installed that are actively syncing data only makes it worse.

1. Find your current phone in one of their tests.

2. Compare your real world results with their findings.

3. Take the difference into account when looking at the results for the Note 4.

I don't understand why so many people are trying so hard to discredit a favorable battery test. You don't have to know the exact specifics of the test, just use it as the baseline it's meant to be used as and move on.

Like I said in my previous post, I average 5 hours of screen time on my S5 with my usage during a full day of 14-16 hours off charge. That's less than their results so I subtract the difference from the Note 4 results and that tells me I should expect an average of 6 hours of screen time on the Note 4.

This isn't rocket science...

I don't know how phone arenas battery life tests work, but I think they're meant to be taken relatively not like hard and fast real world numbers. I'm going to sound like a broken record here for anybody following my posts, but I'm definitely going to wait for anandtechs battery life test analysis - they're usually by far the most comprehensive. And like others have said, the most important number is the actual screen on time.

I'm going to see how the battery life is after I receive it and if it's not enough get the Zerolemon extended battery when it becomes available. I'm thinking between the size of the stock battery and the quick charge feature and the fact I have a charging dock in my car I won't need the Zerolemon battery.

Marques is using the korean exynos so maybe his network settings are borked

The tweet from @MKBHD worries me because it is in line with the terrible battery life shown in the Android Authority review. Was the AA review done using the Korean version as well? It could be issues with that version and the network settings while the Snapdragon US version will be native and do fine...

I'm trying to stay optimistic after reading the PA test results because of their results on the S5 compared to my S5's real world battery, but still, worry is creeping...
