Looking at the Axon 7.

I have a few bucks to spend at Amazon.
Been looking hard at the Axon.
I have to say it's looking like a go.

One hold up are those unlit hardware keys. I had the Zenfone2 which was a great phone, yet those dark keys really started to get tiresome.
Looks like there is a software work around with the phone though.
Are the unlit keys enough of a reason to not buy this otherwise great phone?

Absolutely not. Let me start by saying that I own a samsung galaxy S7 edge, Google pixel, and the axon7. My favorite out of the 3-the axon7. The galaxy S7 EDGE would be number 1 if it had a great sound system, but it doesnt. Im an audiofile and listening to my music through my bose headphones is priority. The axon7 has the very best hifi dacs and dolby atmos to put you right in with the band. And watching movies is also an incredible experience. Music aside , the rest of this device can stand up with the best. It's fast, works flawlessly with zero hiccups in the month that ive had it. It beats pixel hands down and the only thing that the s7 edge has over it is the screen. Not that the axon7 screen is bad. Contrary, its bright, beautiful. But the s7 edge curve is unique. Forget about price, i think its the best smartphone right now.

Yeah me too ..ordered one myself..128gb with 4gb ram...waiting for it to arrive...me to using S7 edge and lumia 950...
Now confused keep s7 edge or lumia 950

The speakers are incredible, but for really true sound, invest in a great pair of headphones. Worth it.

Why do u have 3 phones?
I would also say the s7 and pixel has better camera/video compared to axon 7.

First, as far as the camera, in low light yes. Outdoor pics almost just as good. I don't have 3 phones. I've got 4. I didn't mention the ZTE axon 7 mini. I was so impressed I bought the axon7 for the better screen, camera and speed. I started the year(2015) with th LG V10. It was a good phone, fast enough, but had to many lows. Only the 808soc, a good screen but nothing compared to the S6 edge I gave up. Bad battery life. But worst of all, it was a huge, uncomfortable to hold and carry beast. So after 4 months as soon as the S7 edge hit I grabbed one and sold the monster. I really love my S7 edge. Its the perfect size, extremely fast, always reliable, great battery life, that curved superamoled screen but poor audio system. Then I fell for Googles hype and bought what was supposed to be the elite of elite phones, the pixel. What a let down. Just an average phone not worth half what they were asking. So when the axon7 mini went on sale, I bought one and fell head over heals with its unbeatable audio system. So when the black friday deals came out, I upgraded to the regular Axon 7. Its been a joy. Beats pixel hands down and keeps right up with the S7 edge except the curved screen on S7 EDGE is a bit better. So now I'm back to carrying only 1 device, my axon7. And I'm loving it. I'll save the other 3 for when the axon 8 comes out. I'll sell the pixel, axon 7 mini, and S7 EDGE. And get the 8. I always keep another phone for a backup. You never know. If the galaxy S8 has a hifi dac system, I may consider that one, but only after I see what ZTE has in store for the axon 8.

Enjoy! I tried an Axon 7. Very nice phone. The only thing that irked me was the non-backlight "buttons". That just made for a weird experience for me but if that doesn't bother you in the least the phone is a "beast" that gets many things right. I wish I could have compared the Axon7's audio to my V10 and V20.

Ya in the beginning it will but with time u will get use to it...mine arriving soon..128gb with 4gb ram...selling my S7 edge and will wait for S8...

What a jewel!

I know the dark keys can be a put off.
The wife said I should just put braille tape (little stick-on bumps) on there to help in the dark.

This device is right up my alley I think...a very industrial feel to it.
Dark grey makes it look like an advanced piece of tech.

Easy to tell if a new phone will fly by the initial feel of it I believe.

I love that they include a case and basic screen protector. That was a small win for me. Gotta protecK my TecH

It's nice that they did include a screen protector. The case is OK. But regardless a nice touch.

I kind of like the clear TPU cover that it arrived with.
At least I don't have to worry so much about damage right off.

On a side note**
The Klipsch R6 earbuds I have sound just awesome with this phone.

Yeah thats nice touch to have a case and screen protector..in the box...though i have ordered tempered glass and a hybrid case with stand....
