Looking for a better desktop Sync program

Currently I'm using the HTC Sync to sync up my contacts and calendar. But, it leaves a lot to be desired. Is there anything better out there to use? Something with more functionality?

I'm not sure about another desktop sync software but there's apps that can backup contacts, calendar etc.. Also your contacts and calendar can be backed up with Google.

It backs up data, contacts, apps, photos, call logs, browser bookmarks, SMS, MMS, Calendar, system settings, home screens, and more. It backs up to your SD card or to their secure online servers.
